Week 2, Discover few pointers from Lifelong Learners and learn how to nurture your own learning process.

What I learned so far:
I learned more about what the Electronic Social Networking Tools are. Most practical tools are for everyone, not for IT specialists. This course, 23 Things, is not simply learning these tools. I realized that this course encourages colleagues to help each other, mentor each other, more than normal work/office environment, working as a tool of Team Building.
I have not progressed to next step, Yet. ; (

Week 5, Explore Flickr and learn about this popular image posting site.

Centimental Journey to Nature Mono Lake, Lake Tahoe
This blog should be for the Week 5: Play week. Does anyone know how to move around the order of blogs, instead of deleting already published one, or insert a new blog between the already published blogs? This problem occurs because this blog is not a true live blog, it is an assignment/training. I started playing around with the tools that appealed to me.

Week 7, Create a blog post about anything technology related that interest you this week.

Human are social animals. We socialized mostly face to face, telephone, etc. Does bloging expand our social circle? There is no geographic or language limit on the Internet. I understand why the majority of organizations adding those social networking tools to market and disseminate their product. It is a trend of society. I don't know if any of the marketing companies and the research organizations have done a scientific research on the effectiveness of those tools. I don't know how much more effective those tools are than a well developed webpage presence on the Internet with the subscription tools.

They are very useful and fun tools to disseminate personal opinion. But, if it's used by the officials to systematically disseminate their information and opinion to control the general public, it has chilling effect to the society. We, librarians, need to know how to use them and their function in our society. I believe, I am doing the 23 THINGS because it is my assignment. I looked at our official and other blogs. I have seen very few enlighten or intriguing one. Before I started this 23 things assignment, personally, I placed very low value and respect on them. I have heard lots of bad, less than honorable way of using them. Now, at least I can express my thought, publish my journal, here. Am I cluttering the Internet?Human are social animals. Week 1, Reed this blog & find out about the program.

Best part of 23 things training is the list of common sense.

In this electronic dominated world, WOW, common sense is still alive. "Successful Lifelong Learners Believe" and "7 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners."

Using the phrase COMMON SENSE here made me define exactly what it means. Instead of finding the definition I found following blog by Alrahcam, "It's highly difficult to define the common sense. Its not so easy to acquire, exibit, and experience something which cannot be so easily defined. The flex nature of common sense makes it quite uncommn in most of the situations. Moreover, it is much easier to recognize where common sense is lacking and it goes un-noticed where common sense is higly present - just beacause we presume that common sense is quite common thereby ignoring when it is there and recognizing when it is not there. If you don't understand the answer - it is nothing but a lack of common sense. Intrieging!
